Business Investment Scheme

Business Investment Scheme is for persons who wish to enter the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) from Investment under the General Employment Policy ie to establish or join in business in the HKSAR.

The applicant:

• Should not have any security objections and no serious crime records
• Should have good education background, normally a first degree in the relevant field, but under special circumstance, good technical qualification or proven professional or relevant experience or achievements supported by documentary may consider
• Should be in a position to make substantial contribution to the economy of Hong Kong
• Process time taken for Investment visa is 4-6 months of time.

Capital Investment Entrant Scheme

To invest under this scheme

• You should be aged 18 years or above
• You should have net assets of not less than HK$10 million to which you have been absolutely beneficially entitled for at least 2 years immediately prior to making the application
• You should have invested within 6 months prior or will invest with 6 months post not less than HK$10 million in permissible investment assets class
• You should not have any criminal record both in Hong Kong and country of residence
• You should able to demonstrate that you are capable of supporting and accommodating yourself and your dependents, if any, on your own without relying on any return on the permissible investment, employment  or public assistance in Hong Kong.

After the approval in principle is given to the applicant, he will be initially allowed to enter Hong Kong on visitor status for three months. If the evidence of active progress in investment can be shown, his visitor status can be extended for another three months. When the entrant has furnished proof that the requisite level of investment has been made, permission to stay for two years (formal approval) will be granted. Further extensions for two years will be granted if the entrant can demonstrate to the immigration that he meets the eligibility criteria.
