Application Intake Under Canada QSWP Reaches Cap

Intake of applications under Quebec Skilled Worker’s Programme (QSWP) has reached its cap with no further acceptance of the applications till April 2015.

The QSWP is a favored option of the Federal Skilled Worker Programme (FSWP) given its comparatively relaxed selection process.

The program uses a point’s based system with emphasis on language significantly. In addition, the program necessitates an applicant to be qualified in one the professions on areas of training List, which were previously updated in August 2013.

Quebec province is expected to adopt the system of Express Entry indicating a significant shift in the approach of selecting applicants on the federal level.

With Express Entry, applicants interested for Canadian immigration will state their interest by putting their names on the list. The government as well as provinces will opt for candidates on the list in replacement to the existing traditional immigration streams.
