Canadian Premiers Urge Federal Government To Raise The Level Of Immigration

Canadian Premiers have officially asked the federal government to raise the comprehensive immigration levels and make the immigration system more responsive.

Immigration plays a significant role in helping towards the economic growth of provinces and territories. 

Premiers have emphasized that territories and provinces are in a fine state of evaluating the requirements of their economies and communities and should play a major role in the services of immigrant settlement with their financial partner to be the federal government.

Premiers have called on the government to raise the caps of immigration levels under the Provincial Nominee program.

Premiers of Canada are highly committed to promote economic growth through productive and skilled workforce. Also, they discussed on the recent changes made to Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and recognized that this program served as a major economic device to address the needs of the labor market.
