Australia Announces Alternative English Language Tests For Visa Applicants

Here’s some good news for the individuals who would like to relocate to Australia by obtaining Australia visa. The Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Michaelia Cash, has announced that individuals applying for Australia visa will now have more options in English language exam, additionally with two latest assessment options.

The applicants of skilled visa, temporary graduate visa, work and holiday and former resident visa can now get benefit with these amendments.

Michaelia Cash, said that the applicants scores in TOEFL iBT (Test of English Language as a Foreign Language internet-based test) and PTE Academic (the Pearson Test of English Academic) tests are considered as the proof of their capability in the English language.

This improvement provides more options for the applicants and at the same time, it also rising competition in the English language testing market.

The tests TOEFL iBT and PTE Academic are substitutes to the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and OET (Occupational English Test) tests, which have been accepted in Student visa program from 2011.

Cash also declared that further plans to extend the English language test market are on track with Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) test scores, which is set to be accepted from the next year.
