Australia has proclaimed that BUPA, the new visa health service provider, is now accepting bookings and its medical centers will be open from 28 July 2014 across the country.
Applicants of an Australian permanent visa or longer stay temporary visa may have to undergo medical assessment test as a part of the visa application process.
Taken over from Medibank Health Solutions (MHS), BUPA operates the services of providing health assessment to visa applicants on account of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. The medical assessment includes physical assessment, collection of urine and blood samples and a chest x-ray.
It is offering six committed centers as well as 30-partner centers across Australia, which includes remote and regional areas.
In order to schedule an appointment for medical assessment, the applicants require a valid passport and a HAP ID from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. Applicants obtain HAP ID when they submit visa application. In case, applicants intend to lodge their visa application afterwards they will get HAP ID after the completion of Health Declaration.
A BUPA spokesperson said that the Bupa Medical Visa Services identifies that immigration provides people a better option of improved quality of life in Australia. Through specialized and considerate health assessment services, customers are facilitated to understand the objective of a healthier, happier and longer life.
