The Canada’s citizenship and immigration (CIC) announcement on new immigration system termed as Express Entry, has resulted in the increase of applications under the existing federal skilled worker (FSW) program.
In the present Canada immigration program, applications are submitted depending on the eligible occupations list, which would be removed under the new system.
Remarkably a total of 1,000 visa applications are accepted under single occupation for assessment by the CIC. The three major eligible occupations such as computer programmer and interactive media developers, financial and investment analysts and software engineers and designers have already filled out, because of surge in applications.
Regardless of the fact that then new Express Entry would allow several eligible candidates to apply under the improved FSWP; a number of individuals are rushing to lodge their application before the 31 December 2014, deadline, and before the rest occupational categories get filled.
The new Express Entry will come into effect on 1 January 2015, which excludes list of eligible occupations. Viable overseas individuals with at least one year of work experience during the past 10 years can apply for permanent residence under the existing FSWP before 31 December 2014.
Applicants should also think about other eligibility criteria while considering applications time line.
Above all, applicants should also get their educational credential assessments, and should take a language test to demonstrate their proficiency in any of Canada official languages. Scheduling as well as qualifying the needed language test would undeniably take extra time and increase the general time frame for application submission.
