Canada PR - For Parents And Grand Parents Expected To Re-open

Canadian citizens, parents as well as grandparents  and residents who wish to relocate to Canada can start preparing application now,

They must prepare their applications now, as  the popular parent as well as grandparent immigration stream would reopen in the year 2016, month January.

The CIC wrote, immensely popular parent, as well as Grandparent program, is expected to re-open in month of January in 2016 with sponsors and candidates who are already preparing for what is expected to be very short application intake period.

Parents, as well as grandparents of the Canadian Citizens who are residents, are eligible for permanent residency of Canada under PGP (parent and grandparent programme).

Even though the programme does reopen each year for new applications; the demand is much higher than the supply and applications caps are reached within weeks each year.

In the year 2015, the Canadian govt has accepted nearing to 5000 completed applications, which were submitted in a just couple of days.

The year previously, the same application cap was reached within three weeks. As the system does operate on first come and first basis, acting is key for sponsors as well as applicants.

The CIC recommends applicants to prepare their file now; it can be submitted when the programme opens.

The govt has indicated whether there would be any changes to the eligibility criteria for the 2016 programme.

Given that last year allocation was snapped within days and most prospective sponsors as well as their families  been waiting with anticipation for the PGP to reopen, demands are likely to continue to outweigh the supply if similary cap on programme is in place for next application cycle.

 Therefore, sponsors and sponsored parties might be able to maximize their chance of submitting the application before 2015 programme fills by preparing their documents in advance and having them ready to submit by the start of the year January.

-Who can apply?

A  resident or citizen belonging to Canada can sponsor parent and /or grandparent when at least 18 years of age, complying the minimum necessary income and they should be able to demonstrate these funds for three years before application and promise to provide financial support for the sponsored relative for a period three to 10 years, which again depend on his or her age and relationship to the sponsor.

As there exist high demand family reunification, an alternative route has been developed under the Supervisor programme.

As per the is programme, parents, as well as grandparents belonging to Canadian residents and citizens, can apply for visitor’s for up to two years and they can renew this visa for a period of 10 years.
