The King’s college in London has offered, open support for the re-introduction of post study visa for the Indian students in United Kingdom.
As per the recent data, it has been revealed that, the quite number of students belonging to Indian origin, entering UK to study in UK has fallen by 50% since the year 2010. The reason is due to scrapping of Visa. This has resulted in the fall in the revenue earned by the universities belonging to British Historically we also find one in every 5 students in British University’s population is from the overseas, and also we find one in 4 in London. They pay around £3.9 billion tuition fees annually.
The Principal professor and president of King’s college, Edward Byrne has told TOI that, before making his first trip to our nation India that, bright and motivated students belongs to India and they are considered to be an important part of their Community and presence of Indian students in King’s significantly benefit the, culture, economy and British society as a whole.
The Indians together are the third largest international student body at King’s with Alumni like Khushwant Singh and Sarojini Naidu.
For reintroduction of work visa post study, the Byrne has said to media that, they are not only fully supportive but they would also remain committed to welcome the students belonging to Indian origin to UK and Kings. He has added that, we are open to receive the Indian students and we value the positive ethos they tend to bring along with them.
He added, that they are working to government in order to improve the conditions of visa. The Indian students are interested to apply for Kings must not be put off due to visa application process.
He further said, that they have dedicated team, who can help in visas and how to deal with any issues which arise from Agency belonging to UK Border.
