UK Offers 15 Crore Scholarship For Indian Students

In a bid to allure Indian students to study in the UK, the country’s varsities are planning to offer 15 crore scholarship for students.

Indian students are urged to select UK as their study destination and the minister counselor (political and press), British high commission's, Andrew Soper said that UK enjoys good reputation for its excellence in the field of education and skills throughout the world.

He said that the top six standard universities across the world are located in the UK and the UK university degree is recognized as a most valuable for the employers across the world.   

On an occasion of 'Great UK Education' inauguration seminar, the minister said that in 2015, British council is in joint venture with 57 UK universities, and offers a total of 401 scholarship awards that values 1.5 million pound to allure more Indian students.

He also added that the Great Britain Scholarships-India is the leading program that offers scholarships for Indian Students than ever before. 

Moreover, the government of UK will quadruplicate its financing for the Chevening scholarships—UK government’s international scholarship program, for India students i.e. a maximum of 2.4 million pounds over the coming two years, by making India as a major source of international students across the globe.

He also mentioned that the UK universities cater an inspiring and lively atmosphere to overseas students. In 2013, around 84% of Indian student visa applications were successfully approved, which demonstrates that UK universities welcome Indian students.  

There exists no cap on the number of Indians who can move to UK for education and to stay on, to employ in a graduate-level employment after completing studies, he said.
