UK Students Having Graduate Jobs Can Stay In UK

Home Secretary Theresa May today has ruled out any relaxation in Britain’s student visa system, which state’s overseas students must return home as soon as their visa does expire unless they have a graduate job.

While speaking at the Conservative party conference in Manchester,  we welcome students coming to study. But the fact is, too many of them are not returning home as soon as their visa does run out.

 If the individuals have a graduate job, that is fine, if not, they should return home. So I do not care what the university lobbyist state, the rules should be enforced. The students yes, over stayers no. And the universities should make this happen, May stated.

Industrialist, who is leading NRI, Paul, Chancellor of the Wolverhampton University and Lord Karon Bilmoria, Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, have emphasized the need to remove students from immigration figure and also reintroduce the post-study work visa.

Today Lord Paul has stated, Britain must attract high caliber student to study in the UK. We should also provide them an opportunity for them to work in the UK for two years following their studies. It does not help international students alone. It does help British Student as they gain experience in international living. Expressing concern, over the decline in the Indian student number coming to study in universities belonging to the UK. Bilmoria has stated that, British Govt should remove students from immigration figures and reintroduce the post-study work visa.

While participating in the recent debate on immigration bill in the House of Lords, Lord Bilimoria has stated, the Prime Minister talks about the Britain to take part in a global race yet the govt’s insistence is on the immigration cap inorder to bring down level of immigration.

After Chinese, 2nd largest group of students are from India, and nearly about 20,000 students have gone to the UK for higher studies in the academic year 2013-2014.

The Indian students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses that have declined by nearing 50% between 2010 and 2012 after the UK scrapped the two-year post-study work permit.
