Benfites Enjoyed By Uk Immigrants, Migration Watch Report

As per the research published by the Migration Watch-an organization that lobbies for stricter UK immigration, controls the benefits, wages and also employment levels tend to differ vastly across the varied different migrant groups in the UK

Australian, South African and US immigrants do receive much higher income than those born in UK. As per the research. A press release published by MigrationWatch also said that Indians  does portray strong economic characteristics. They do have higher level of employment, good income as well as low level of benefit claimants.

However, the immigrants from Bangladesh and Pakistan are further down the pay scale, they do have lower rate of employment and are more likely to claim the benefits.

Migrants Rights Network’s(a group working for the rights of every migrant) spokesperson has said  that, when analyzing this research it is important to keep in mind that receiving a higher rate of benefit is not the same as being a burden on the state.

Official Labour Force Survey of 100,000 people have been used , the study came to the following conclusions.

·         The immigrants arriving in UK from Western Europe, South Africa, US, India and New Zealand have high employment rate and good incomes. They also do not claim benefits than often.

·         The migrants from dark continent Africa (excluding South Africa) tend to have an employment rate and income very similar to those individuals  born in Britain.  But we also find that, claim rates for benefits  have been significantly higher.

·         Those coming to the UK from Bangladesh as well as Pakistan do have  low rate of  Employment,  lesser income and they are  likely to claim for benefits more often

·         Eastern European Migrants from nations such as the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia and do have high employment but receive lower wages and they tend to claim benefit at higher rate than born in Britain.

Research has been spun

 Don Flynn, Right Network, the director of charity Migrants said Migration watch looks like it has been spun to suggest more migrants are claiming the benefits than people who are born in UK. It does create the impression that few of the migrants are poor performers.

Overall when compared with their cost to the taxpayer, the migrants tend to  contribute more to UK economy and there’s nothing in Migration Watch’s study to contest that. He added,
