Following the successful completion of first draw invitations to 779 individuals, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada has conducted the second draw within the few days. In the second draw, on a whole, 779 invitations were granted for the skilled immigrants over the weekend under the Express Entry selection system.
The minimum of 818 points are acquired by the candidates who have received invitation to apply for Canada permanent residency under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
On 7 February 2015 at 11:59:59 UTC, Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) promulgated that overseas nationals who have been secured 818 points or more under the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) i.e. set out in the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Canada Express Entry System, as printed in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on 1 December 2014.
Till now, in the two separate draws a total of 1558 candidates were selected and invited to apply for Canada PR. Candidates are given two months to submit a full application after receiving invitation a letter.
Canada has purposely kept the first round small so, that they can solve any glitches or problems, and to test and confirm that the process proceeds without any issues.
CIC has signified its aim to conduct a maximum of 25 draws in 2015 and planning to meet its immigration goal of 285,000 under the 2015 immigration plan. Of which, it is anticipated that more than 180,000 would be picked under the Express Entry system.
It is also expected that future draws occurs more repeatedly and the Canadian government is likely to grant highest number of invitations to wider array of candidates in Canada’s Express Entry pool.
