Canadian Government Redefines Dependent Child Eligibility Criteria

Immigration to Canada for dependent children would change from August 1^st 2014.

Below criteria needs to met by every children who want to apply as a dependent to the main applicant:

• Age needs to be below 19 years
• They should not be married nor should be in a common-law relationship

Please note that children who are 19 years or more can be considered as dependent only if they are unable to support themselves because they suffer from a mental or physical condition.

Children over 19 years of age will no longer be considered dependents if also they are in full-time studies.

The changes have been done after extensive research by Canadian government; where in it was found that younger dependent children between ages 15 and 18 adapt to Canadian society easily and achieve economic success fast compared to children above 19 years of age.

The visa processing fee for all dependent children will be 150 Canadian dollars from 1^st August 2014.

This rule would be applicable for every applications received on or after 1st August 2014.
