Emoploying Non-EU Employees Of MNC's To Their EU Country Offices Made Easier

According to reliable news reports, it will now be easier for MNCs’ (Multi-National Companies) to transfer their highly skilled employees such as researchers, managers, etc. to their European offices. These rules were put into effect as part of new migration rules implemented by MEPs (Members of European Parliament) yesterday, 15th April, 2014.

The above proposition and rule unifies or integrates or synthesizes the divergent rules pertaining to intra-company transfers of those who do not belong to the EU. It provides the non-EU employees to freedom and flexibility to work on project assignments as long as (or, provided that) their employer companies do not make them work with/for less pay and different work conditions as applicable to EU employees.

This above indicated proposal was first presented by Ms. Cecilia Malmstorm, European Commissioner for Home Affairs, in 2010, but it got delayed and embroiled because the governments in the EU were more focused on lowering/curtailing immigration rather than in facilitating/increasing it. Earlier, another different proposition on deputing workers within the EU led to intense disagreements concerning intra-company transferees.

But, some like Ms. Cecilia Malmstorm state and argue that Europe needs highly skilled employees from abroad to address its companies’ needs.

Also, as per the new rules which were put into effect yesterday after the MEPs adopted the proposition, about 6,600 bigger and listed companies in the EU would have to reveal some important/crucial information. This information that is to be revealed includes the impact of the companies on the environment, labour force, anti-graft policies and also employee diversity programs. According to those who set EU’s policy, these measures will aid and assist in increasing the transparency and accountability of enterprises in Europe.
