Employment Based US Green Card Application Can Be Filed Earlier

Today US- Department of state has published its visa bulletin and it now includes varied dates to fill the visa application which are  employment based inorder to allow foreign nationals who are  subject to  backlogs priority date ‘s to submit application for green card earlier then the priority date becoming current.

This particular option for early filling of Greencard would permit the applicant to get interim benefits which does includes work authorization as well as travel document and it permits the applicants to accept position from employer who are new, at beginning stage of process.

The new filing date only provides an earlier opportunity to submit the adjustment of status application and in no way it accelerates timeframe wherein green card application issued and approved in real.

For applicants of Greencard, the DOS presently offers two different charts for the cut off dates

• The action date final which does match the long standing chart priority date
• New date for filing under which the applicants must file green card application

Under new cut off dates, when can applicants file for status adjustment?

Starting from Oct 1,2015, eligible applicants to file the  status based adjustment can file their applications.
