A recently released report said that the immigration provides significant economic and social benefits to Northern Ireland by plugging labor scarcities, bringing required skills and elevating society by means of cultural diversity.
The report, which was written by two academics from Queen's University, stated that around 4% of the employees in Northern Ireland are from overseas.
Authorize by the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building, it recommended that overseas nationals contribute additional in tax than they utilize in services.
The report has noted some of the major findings such as, the migrant employees contribute £1.2bn to the country’s economy starting 2004 to 2008, migrant employee’s accounts 4% of the Northern Ireland workforces, 3% of overall individuals who are attending school in Northern Ireland are from ethnic minorities, 81.5% of overseas employees in the UK are working, below 5% of EU immigrants claim jobseekers allowance, the temporary overseas nationals utilizing the health service cost is amounted to around £12m of the £109bn National Health Service (NHS) budget
Lord Alderdice, the Chairman of the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building, told they were eager to order a part of work that would look critically at the immigrant population in Northern Ireland and show how much immigrants contribute to the society.
The report emphasis contributions in skills, tax, labor and cultural diversity, which help in developing the society, he added.
