The Indian restaurants owners have made a request to Prime Minister of UK for the introduction of work visa. This visa would help in flying the experienced staff to UK and plug the curry chef shortage which is forcing the closure across nation.
The Enam Ali, who has founded the British Curry awards 10 years ago, is preparing the submission to the Prime Minister and other Cabinet members, including the Home secretary, Theresa May and the house of Commons Leaders, Chris Grayling.
It does warns that 90% of the curry restaurants are undergoing the threat shortage of chef skills less than 2 years later when Mr Cameron Acknowledged at the 013 awards that, there has been questions on immigration and getting chefs with necessary experience . The PM has vowed to continue to help them get the skilled Asian chefs you require.
The Indian restaurants have employed about 100,000 people and they earn about £4.2bn a year, but Mr Ali has warned that it can take about 3 years to train a chef from the scratch, that hundreds of restaurants could soon go the way of local pubs and shut down.
The restaurant owners have given suggestion about short term visa, similar to Germany, US and Middle East, where they have to leave the nation after their term, there would be no burden at all on the welfare system or the taxpayers.
Owner of Vujon, Mahtab Miah, in Newcastle has said that, the problem has emerged only in the past 5 years, but it was getting worse and worse each day.
Mahtab Miah also added that, the problem has emerged only in the past 5 years, but was also getting worse and worse every day.
