Quebec All Set To Re-Launch Skilled Worker Program On 1 October 2015

The much-awaited date for the re-opening of Quebec skilled worker immigration program has finally announced by the Quebec government. According to the provincial government from 1 October 2015, onwards Quebec plans to accept 6300 applications for 2015-2016 period. The program features over 75 eligible professions and areas of training that enables applicants to become eligible for obtaining Quebec Certificate of Selection (CSQ), without holding a job offer.

The Quebec skilled immigration program is the only program among other immigration programs offered by provinces, where skilled immigrants can expect their chances of admission based on the proven qualifications.  Under the Quebec immigration system, applicants who score minimum qualification points can receive a CSQ that allows them to become eligible for Canadian PR.

A Skilled worker visa is intended for overseas national who plans to settle in Quebec in order to hold a desirable job offer. This program uses a points based system, which assesses the individual’s education, area of training, experience, language, age, job offer, children, adaptability and qualifications of a spouse or partner to grant PR.

Under the Quebec Skilled Worker program, various fields such as Engineering and Information Technology, Management and Financial Services as well as Health Care have the best opportunities to succeed.

The application process follows a multi-stage assessment process each with a least cut-off score. Individuals with at minimum pass points are granted with a Quebec Certificate of Selection and can apply for federal authorities to arrive in Canada. An individual who attains a Canadian PR enjoys all the privileges as well as liberty of labor mobility all over Canada provided under the Canadian Charter.
