To attract the brightest and talented from across the globe, US government may soon allow spouse of H-1B visa holder to work in the US under the new proposal made by Obama administration.
The statement released from the White House said, the Department of Homeland Security will shortly release numerous proposed changes which will attract talented foreign high skilled migrants and industrialists who will make good contribution to the US economy, improve American innovative competitiveness and create good number of jobs.
The expected measures include giving authorization to the spouses of H-1B visa holder and improving the opportunities for remarkable researchers and professors.
The proposed regulations are continuing efforts of Department of Homeland Security to improve the transparency of the present immigration system, eliminate efficiency and streamline the process. Improve the transparency of the immigration system by introducing Entrepreneur Pathways that is an online source which provides immigrant entrepreneurs new ways to find the better opportunities to set up and grow their business.
With these changes in to effect, the spouses of H-1B visa holders are more likely to be allowed to work in the US. However, only some categories of spouses would be allowed, mostly from science and technology background likely to get the authorization.
The H-1B visas are used by the US business to recruit the foreign nationals who are highly skilled professional and most of the H-1B visas are issued to the Indian IT professionals.
According the mandated numerical limit, USCIS allocates a maximum of 65,000 H-1B visas for the 2015 fiscal year which begins from 1st October, 2014.
