US President, Obama Plans To Expand Temporary Visa Program

Here’s some good news for overseas skilled employees who would like to work in the US. The US president, Barack Obama, has announced that, the much awaited immigration plan will be produced soon, which includes the expansion of temporary visa program.

At present, the temporary visa program enables overseas graduates, especially in the engineering and science fields to work in the US for a period up to 29 months.

Currently, between 100,000 and 200,000 individuals are residing in the US, on temporary visas. The number of tech companies in the US, are facing acute skill shortages particularly in engineering and science sectors. Increasing the cap of temporary visas is step to meet the demand of skilled work force.

Sources said that the expansion of temporary visa program could probably cut out the middleman and further improve the protection of privileges for foreign employees.
