Effective from April 1^st, 2009 onwards the Singapore High Commission has stopped accepting individual walk-in applications. All applications have to be submitted through electronic visa (e-Visa) application system. This allows online processing of visa application faster and smoother.

Applications have to be visa authorised visa agents only. Applicants can get their e-Visa printed online by the authorised visa agents.

Local sponsor in Singapore (with a Singpass account) can also submit their family/relatives/friends application online on their behalf.

Overview

Persons coming down to Singapore for business or for taking job-interviews have to apply for the social visit pass in Singapore. Social Visit Pass has 2-4 weeks validity period. The social visit pass can be further extended for 3 months.

Eligibility

The following are eligible to get a Singapore Social Visit Pass:

• Person who will not visit Singapore in 3 days time after their last departure from the country
• International visitorscoming down to Singapore for a short vacation or for a business tour
• Procedures involved in getting a social visit pass application
• Persons who will not extend their stay in Singapore for over 30 days after their present social visit pass expires
• Persons are eligible to apply if their validity period (leaving public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays) does not expire in 2 days time
• Persons who have previously not obtained permission to extend their stay in the country
