HK has a free period which allows an applicant of a country to visit HK without a visa for a particular number of days. For e.g., Indians can stay in HK under free period for 14 days. But for stay which exceeds the free period (and the applicant just wants to visit HK without an intention of settling there) HK visit visa is required.

It generally takes 4 weeks to process a visit visa application upon receipt of all the required documents. Unless all the documents and the information are correct the process would not be able to start.
