149th Express Entry Draw: Issued 385 PNP Invitations To Apply For Canada PR

Canada has just conducted a latest Express Entry draw that issues invitations to apply to selected candidates who had earlier obtained a provincial nomination.

Details of 149^th PNP Specific Express Entry Draw

A sum of 385 Invitations to Apply (I.T.As) were announced to Express Entry applicants in the 27 May 2020 invitation round.

Provincial Nominee (PNP) Program applicants in the Express Entry pool are granted with an additional 600 CRS points on top of their principal human capital score. That is why the minimum Comprehensive Ranking (CRS) System score demand was 757 points for this draw. Without the extra CRS points from the provincial nomination, the invited applicants would have had a human capital points score of 157.

This is the 6th PNP only draw from the Canadian Express Entry system since specific coronavirus measures moved into place on 18 March 2020. Canada has been fluctuating between holding Federal Express Entry draws targeting candidates with a PNP and candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Draws targeting CEC applicants normally have a much lower C.R.S cutoff score. The last CEC-only draw issued invitations to candidates with a CRS score of a minimum of 447 points, the lowest CRS requirement for these applicants since Jan 2019.

A tie-break rule was utilized in this specific draw. All contestants with a CRS score of minimum 757 points and also submitted their profile to the pool of Express Entry prior to 27 April 2020 at 10:19:01 UTC, obtained an ITA in this program-specific invitation round.

Draws dates have become quite unpredictable. Beginning in the year, all-program draws that included the Federal Skilled Worker (FSWP) Program, Federal Skilled Trades (FSTP) Program, and CEC program applicants that are occurred for every two weeks. Presently that Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Canada (I.R.C.C) is conducting targeted draws, they may occur days or hours gap.

So far in 2020, Canada immigration targets are on track to surpass last year’s levels.
