About Canada express entry:
In the recent Express Entry draw, the Canadian immigration officials issued Invitations to Apply to 3,500 candidates to seek permanent residence under all programs. Earlier on April 11 also 3,500 candidates received the ITA. The least CRS score was 441, which is three points lower in comparison to the previous draw. The present draw was the 8th round of Express Entry invitations of 2018 and 88th overall.
The revised format
In the revised format, the authorities can allow a specific number of invitations which are worthy to issue. In case, the number of candidates having the least score exceeds the number of invitations allowed, authorities use a tie-breaking system for issuing invitations. The basis is at the time of arrival and the stamp affixing.
Moreover, when then one candidate has the least score, the calculation of cut-off marks, depends upon the time and date when the EE profile is put in. 3,500 is the maximum number of candidates who got the invitations in one draw after implementing this change.
In the recent draw, the leading 3,500 profiles of the pool passed the eligibility norm to receive an Invitation to Apply. The cut-off score was 441.
Reason for Change
In the new format, immigration authorities have a better control in implementing a fine method to choose the specific and required number of candidates. In The past, this was not possible.
The latest draw had a low CRS score which was below 500. Express Entry commenced in January 2015 to manage applications of several skilled workers in the Federal Economic programs. These include programs like the FSWP, the STP, and the Experience Class as well as some Provincial Nomination Programs.
Observers expect nearly 30 draws where 70,000 applicants will receive invitations in 2018. Many draws will have a CRS score that is lower than 450. This will help the immigration authorities in meeting the annual target of 2018.
Note for Employers
Employers must consider and obtain LMIA or a nomination for provincial nomination programs. Furthermore, this will lead to the retaining of employees.
Note for Candidates
Many applicants who get the ITA’s in the Express Entry system in 2018 will require a CRS score that is below 450. Finally, this will help many of them to get a permanent admission in Canada, without a job offer or PNP nomination program.
