The Government, the Unity Party and the Liberal Alliance have agreed on new funding for strategic research within food, the environment, health and production, as well as for independent research and innovation in 2013.
The Government, the Unity Party and the Liberal Alliance have signed an agreement to allocate 770 million DKK (€103 million) for new initiatives within research and innovation in 2013.
Minister for Science, Innovation and Higher Education, Morten Østergaard, is satisfied with the agreement.
“I am pleased that we have succeeded in reaching an agreement with a majority of the political parties on the distribution of the 770 million DKK (€103) for research. The agreement provides a solid foundation for the ambitions of Danish research to be a significant contributor in tackling global challenges and creating growth.” says the Minister.
With the parties' agreement on the research funding, the public research budget now amounts to 20.2 billion DKK (€2.7 billion) in 2013, equivalent to 1.07 per cent of GDP.
