Alberta Express Entry Stream: Recent Draw Issues 294 ITAs For Canada PR

Approximately 300 Express Entry System applicants who are aspiring to settle in Alberta obtained invitations to apply for a nomination of the province in the recent selection draw of Alberta Express Entry.

The 294 applicants selected required a minimum of 400 points below the Federal Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to obtain an invitation.

This minimum required score was 38 points lesser than the weakest score drawn by a Canadian Express Entry invitation round in 2019, which was equal to 438 on January 30.

The Express Entry System controls the pool of applicants for 3 categories of economic immigration

• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class
• Federal Skilled Trades Class

Applicants are given a rank in the pool depends on their CRS score, which analyzes parameters such as education, age of the primary applicant, proficient work experience and knowledge in the languages of English or French.

The 294 invitations announced in the draw held on 28 August 2019 which is higher than 121 ITAs announced in the past draw held on 15 August 2019.

Alberta has presently announced a sum of 5,236 invitations to Express Entry applicants throughout 23 draws conducted in this year.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

The Stream of Alberta Express Entry grants a pathway to Canada PR for qualified Express Entry applicants with great ties to the Alberta province or who are working in a profession that helps Alberta’s economic growth and diversification advantages, among other parameters.

Presently there is no eligible occupations list. The minimum required CRS score has fallen to 300 for four times since the stream formation in June 2018.

Express Entry applicants can only appeal for a provincial nomination with the Alberta's Express Entry Stream if they received an invitation to apply through the Alberta PNP.

The A.I.N.P says it may grant preference to aspirants with:

• A valid employment offer or relevant Albertian work experience;
• A Canadian degree from a post-secondary institute and also a valid employment offer; or
• A child, parent, sibling now residing in Alberta.
