After many months the ACT 190 nomination program will restart on 29 Nov 2018 with a current process of nomination.
The ACT 190 visa enables skilled workers who are chosen by an Australian territory or state government work and live in Australia as a permanent resident. The 190 pathway is designed to address particular skills deficits within that ACT.
While the new process specifics have not been released we do understand that the current ACT process will run away from the past system of first-come, first-serve. The current process will be a merit-based system due to the Territories shortage of designated positions.
Home Affairs assumes that the current merit-based system will be the higher efficient use of the 800 designated positions.
The current system will rank candidates upon two principal criteria:
Possible economic contribution and dedication to Canberra, enabling the government to manage our allocation better and receive the skills that we want. The recommended reforms are undergoing the last internal testing, and the program plan will be finalized soon.
With several applications having been lodged simply before the end of the ACT 190 in June, Home Affairs has agreed that candidates who were close to being qualified may be able to get extra points in the current merit-based system.
This New process Affected many Candidates, and overall it gave mixed results. The application closure period in June has created many disruptions for candidates trying to migrate to Australia.
