BC Immigration: Latest PNP Draw Issues 279 Invitations for Canada PR

On 2 June 2020 British Columbia conducted its biggest Provincial Nomination (PNP) Program draw since late March 2020.

A sum of 241 Skilled Worker and Global Graduate candidates obtained invitations to apply below the province’s Express Entry (E.E.B.C) BC and BC Skills Immigration categories. The minimum expected score for applicants altered by category.

The cut-off scores for the Express Entry BC subcategories was:

  • Global Graduate: 105 Points
  • Skilled Worker: 105 Points

Such applicants required to have already provided their profiles below the Refugee, Immigration, and Citizenship's Federal Express Entry system. After their invitation to apply for a B.C. provincial nomination successful applicants will secure an additional 600 CRS points which will decently guarantee that they will obtain an Invitation to Apply (I.T.A) for Canada PR below IRCC’s federal; Express Entry system.

The cut-off scores for the 3 Skills Immigration BC subcategories was:

  • Global Graduate: 105 Points
  • Skilled Worker: 105 Points
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled worker: 81 points

The government of B.C. indicated that there was an influence of the COVID-19 on the draw. As this has been the case in most recent months, B.C. suspended several sales and service professions from this draw.

Entrepreneur Streams

B.C. PNP also invited applicants to its entrepreneur streams for the first time in almost a couple of months. Two draws were conducted in what were the 6th and 7th entrepreneur draws handled by the province in the year 2020.

A sum of 29 invitations to apply was issued below the B.C. PNP’s Entrepreneur Base Category Immigration. The required cut-off score was 121 points. The goal of the Base Category is to welcome empowered entrepreneurs who either intend to commence a business or take over one.

B.C. PNP also announced 9 invitations to apply to Entrepreneur Regional Pilot Immigration applicants who had a cut-off score of a minimum of 118 points. Begun in 2019, the goal of the pilot is to support immigrant entrepreneurs to establish a new life in smaller and regional communities in the BC province.

This draw invitation round was BC’s biggest since 30 March 2020 when it invited 311 applicants.
