The Canada Express entry is the system put in place in 2015 to manage how people with the necessary skills to apply for immigration into Canada. The express Entry system covers all of the immigration programmes within the Canadian immigration system. It has been reported that there will be 15 draws in the first half 2017 with up to thirty thousand invitations being processed.
The number of points required for the application to live permanently in Canada varies depending on the number of skilled workers required. For the latest draw, which took place on March 24th the points required increased to 441 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System. A total of 3749 candidates received an invitation from the government of Canada to submit their applications.
This was the 7th Express Entry draw to take place in 2017, following on from the 1st March draw which invited 3884 candidates to apply. The points required for this draw was 434 points. The points system is designed to project whether an applicant is likely to be economically successful when they embark on a new life in Canada.
The points system varies significantly with the lowest ever CRS points required being required for the draw on 1st March 2017 – draw 56 and the highest being 886 required for the very first draw which took place back in January 2015. Whilst the latest draw requirements are slightly up on the previous one there is a general downward trend in points required to be invited to be submit an application.
It is not yet known when draw number 58 will take place, what the points requirements will be or how many will be invited for application although some predict that it could be as early as early April.
