Ireland Introduced New Work Visa Process For NON-EU Nurses

A New visa application process, for non-European Union area nurses, has been introduced by the Ireland Government, for those who possess an employment contract in the country. This requires them to use the new visa application through the channel of Atypical Scheme Work.

Immigrant workers/employers can submit their applications for the General Employment Permit. This is a visa linked to the job offer. Applicants are allowed to work within the country in a profile which draws a salary of 30,000 pounds in a year.

Employers, as well as workers, are eligible to submit their applications for the Permit in the Critical Skills Employment of Ireland. It is a permit linked to the job offer. All Applicants can work within the country in a profile which has a salary of 60,000 pounds in a year. The emoluments can reach 30,000 pounds if the post is listed among the categories in the High- Skilled Occupations-List of Ireland.

The New Work visa application facilitates the candidates to work in a job that is uncovered by the other employment rules. It includes segments of the industry that face the skills shortage.

This process requires such nurses to:

• Complete an aptitude test or a program to assess clinical skills,
• Register with the Irish Professional Nursing Board for receiving a personal identification number
• Receive a job-permit through the employer
• Register with the Irish Immigration Service

This process also applies to nurses who are trained in the European Union, who were not qualified previously for register directly. This guideline has been based as per the European Parliament Directive 2005/36/EC, which administers the accreditation of professional qualifications. Following this, the nurses who wish to work in the country, need to file an application, through Atypical Work Scheme.
