Jordanian Government Removes Visa Restrictions For Indians

In order to encourage inward investments from the Indian subcontinent, Jordan has eased, visa restrictions placed on Indian nationals. Now they can obtain a visa at any border crossing. 

The Jordan Investment Commission made an announcement, regarding confirming the measure, with the Interior Ministry, noting that Indians, will now be in a position, to receive visas, through Diplomatic Missions of Jordan directly, or can also get a visa on entry. 

The simplified restrictions will make the entry of Indian businessmen easy and improve tourism, besides increasing volume of Indian investment and save time and effort of investors.

The commission also stated that the government was eager to develop economic and trade links between the two countries, and noted the fact that India was the third major economic partner of the Kingdom next only to the US and China.

Jordan serves as a gateway to the Indian investors to visit the Gulf nations, as also Syria and Iraq. India was a top investor in Garment and Fertilisers sectors of Jordan.  

India imports Potash, Fertilisers and Phosphoric Acid from Jordan, and exports Tea, Frozen Meat, Coffee, Rice, Sugar, Tobacco, Garments, Chemicals and Electrical Devices.
