Maximum UK Work Visas Issued To Indians

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), during the first half of the year 2016, the Indian professionals were granted the maximum number of skilled work visas. The raise in the number reflects the increasing demand of skills professions in the various fields like medicine, IT and allied sectors, engineering and service industries etc. 

As per the August quarterly report, a total of 93935 work visas were granted during the 3 months, out of which the Indians received 53548 visas. US nationals took the second largest share of 11% i.e. 10019 skilled work visas.

In the previous years the UK visa terms have got stricter for the job seekers and the citizens of non EU nations have to apply for mandatory National Insurance. The number of Indians applying for the insurance was also the highest during the same period and this can be a reason for increase in the number of work visa given to the Indians.
