Most Widely Spoken Language In Vancouver-Mandarin

Some 3, 90,000 people speak Cantonese in Canada. Vancouver has 24.5 % of immigrants who speak different foreign languages. 

According to the recent report, Mandarin has been recognized as the widely spoken foreign language in Vancouver, Canada. Earlier it was Cantonese which is also a dialect of China, the language which is quite widespread in South China’s Guangdong Province, Hong Kong or Macao. 

First Immigrants who moved to Canada were from South China region. Thus, Cantonese became quite common. However, due to the change in immigrant population from mainland China, it allowed more people to Vancouver who spoke mandarin.

According to Statistics of 1997 and 2009 from the Department of Canada, some 4, 000, 00 Chinese locals settled in Canada. Mr. Watt, settled in Canada during the 1970s, said that he never faced any inconvenience from immigrant communities, and he is very much attached to his mother tongue, Cantonese. Mandarin Speaking people are fresh off the boat and close to each other.

The statistics and the entire report proved that Canada is still the safest place for all the immigrants where there is no barrier or discomfort from the prior settlers or the new-comers.
