The immigration authorities of Prince Edward Island have conducted a draw using the Expression of Interest system, which was initiated in 2018.

In the recent draw, held on May 17^th, 2018 22 in Express Entry category and 56 Invitations were issued in the Labor Impact category. Additionally, No invitations were issued in the Business Impact category.

Statistics

This was the fourth draw since January 2018, of the Prince Edward Island. The previous draw was held on April 19^th, 2018 in which 169 candidates were invited. Among the invitees 77 were under the Labor Impact Category, and had a score in the range of 22 to 85. 75 invitees were in the Canada Express Entry category that had commenced working on the island. Some of them were graduates of a post-secondary institution here. The scores of candidates were in the range of 37 to 87. 17 candidates received the invitation in the Business Impact category, and had a score in the range of 135 to 155.

Prince Edward Island Express Entry Stream

The EE category of P.E.I. works, after considering candidates, present in the Pool seeking provincial nomination. Getting a nomination gives 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System score to a candidate. This also serves as a guarantee to get the Invitation to Apply for Canadian immigration.

The method of applying seeking a provincial nomination from P.E.I. is that the candidates present in the Pool need to fill up a simple form. It is available on the website of the provincial government.

Furthermore, the application fee is nil and when the candidate completes the form it becomes an expression of interest to immigrate to P.E.I.

Prince Edward Island Labor Impact Category

1) Skilled Worker Stream

This stream has a focus on employers and allows only the skilled workers who possess an employment offer in the island. They receive the nomination seeking PR in Canada when they fulfill the following criteria:

A full time employment offer from a local business in an job that has the classification of skill level “0”, “A” or “B” of the NOC;
Furthermore, Completing a post-secondary education, after fourteen years of education;
Additionally, the Age must be between 21 and 55 years;
Two years of full time work experience in the last 5 years;
Adequate proficiency in English/French to take up the employment;
Enough funds for settlement also;
Finally, showing an intention to settle in Island

2) Critical Worker Stream

This is a means to solve labor shortages and caters to overseas workers working in Island with a job in specific critical occupations. The criteria to seek the nomination are:

A full time job offer from a local business in or as: Customer service representative; Truck driver; Laborer; Housekeeping attendants; or Food & beverage serving
Six months of work experience with the local business offering employment;
Valid Canadian work-permit that is Current;
High school diploma and twelve years of education, Furthermore Two years of full-time work experience in the last 5 years;
Show proficiency in English/French at the basic level, Adequate settlement funds also;
Finally, showing an intention to settle in Island
