Ontario Issues 954 Notifications In Its First Tech Draw Of 2020

The immigration Authorities in Ontario on January 15^th conducted the first Tech Draw for the year, which was the first after August 1^st, 2019. It issued 954 Notifications of Interest to candidates belonging to the Express Entry.

The details

The Comprehensive Ranking System score was in the range between 460 and 427, in the draw and also the candidates needed to submit a profile in Express Entry between Jan 15^th, 2019 and Jan 15^th, 2020.

These Tech Draws are held in the Human Capital Priorities stream belonging to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, with a focus on six occupations in the technology domain. Furthermore, it was the third Tech Draw after the province announced this initiative in July 2019. We present the details of the working of the HCP Tech Draws.

Human Capital Priorities Tech Draw and the details

The six specific and targeted technology occupations are:

• Database analysts and data administrators as per NOC 2172
• Software engineers and designers as per NOC 2173
• Interactive media developers and Computer programmers as per NOC 2174
• Computer engineers as per NOC 2147
• Web designers and developers as per NOC 2175
• Computer and information systems managers as per NOC 0213

The aim of the draws is to address prevalent labor shortages in the provincial technology sector.

Candidates also have to fulfill present HCP requirements and have work experience in a listed occupation. Candidates that are selected from the pool get a Notification of Interest through the IRCC account.

Subsequently, they get 45 days for submitting a full application.

Ontario has a focus on technology occupations, and has launched its new team to give Business Immigration Services.

The Requirements for the Ontario Express Entry: HCP Stream

The norms to qualify the applicants are:

• A current Express Entry profile and earning a qualification in FSWP or CEC
• Holding at least one-year full-time, or its equivalent work experience under NOC level B. 0, or A during the past five years when they apply in FSWP or three years when they apply in CEC.
• Holding a Canadian Bachelors degree
• Having language proficiency of CLB/NCLC level 7 in English/French
• A plan to live in Ontario
• Living with legal status in Canada,
• Sufficient Proof of settlement funds
