Prince Edward Island EOI Draw Issues 123 Invitations For Canada PR

Prince Edward Island Provincial immigration announced 123 invitations to apply in the initial draw of the year 2020 below its system of Expression of Interest.

The 16 January 2020 draw marked 110 invitations to apply announced to Labour Impact candidates and Express Entry applicants, and 13 invitations issued to Business Impact applicants.

The Business Impact applicants demanded a minimum score of 125 points, which is a drop of 15 points from the prior draw. P.E.I provincial immigration started its Expression of Interest system at the commencement of 2018 and has made periodic draws ever since.

The province of P.E.I declared a total of 1,629 Invitations to apply during 2019. In those 1,629 Invitations to apply 1,436 Invitations to apply went to both Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates, with the outlasting 193 Invitations to apply went to Business Impact applicants.

PEI Express Entry Category

This category runs by considering applicants who are in the pool of federal Express Entry for a PEI provincial nomination.

Such a nomination provides additional 600 CRS points and effectively ensures an Invitation to Apply (I.T.A) for Canadian immigration. This Category features two pathways for Canada PR, one for aspirants with an offer of a job and one for aspirants without an offer of a job.

PEI Labour Impact Category

1) Skilled Worker Stream

This stream is driven by employers and empowers skilled workers with an offer of a job in PEI to be chosen for Canadian PR if they meet below requirements:

• An employment offer from a PEI business in an occupation categorized as skill level 0, A or B of the NOC code (National Occupational Classification) ;
• Fulfillment of post-secondary education, with 14 years of regular education which is minimum;
• Age must be between 21 to 55 years;
• A minimum of 2 years of work experience in the prior 5 years;
• Adequate proficiency in French or English to occupy the job offered;
• Adequate settlement funds;
• Expressed their intention to settle in PEI province.

2) Critical Worker Stream

This stream is intended to overcome the labor deficits and is open to international workers who are already in the PEI with employment in one of the critical demand professions. 

PEI Business Impact Category: Work Permit Stream

People applying under this Stream must obtain a Canadian work permit and need to work for a P.E.I. business for a specified amount of time as indicated in a Performance Agreement. After the fulfillment of the Performance Agreement, the applicant required to make a minimum of CAD 150,000 investment in the business and need to manage the business daily from the province of P.E.I.
