Sharp Decline In The Number Of H1B Issued By Major IT Giants

There has been sharp decline reported in the total number of H1B issued to the IT professionals this year.The year 2016 saw only 9356 Visas issued to the IT companies which went down by 37% compared to 2015 where 14,792 H1Bs had been issued.
 
The IT service industry is bound to hire more local talent with the onset of Trump’s government setting up new norms for only skilled immigration to take place to the US.
 
The use of cloud computing and artificial intelligence have created a thunderous wave which does not look for the IT professionals.Till now, the companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys used to file large no. Of visa petition which maximized their chance of getting more H1B for their business.
 
The US clients of the major IT companies have demanded better technology with deep data analysis which would keep up with the pace of digital engineering and require less labor.The US has also shown interest in issuing H1B’s to international students studying at reputed universities in the US. Nearly 50% of the workforce of the IT major companies of India are on L1 and H1B visa to the US.It is also told that the minimum salary given to an H1B holder would also increase subsequently in the times ahead.
