Australian Significant Investor Visa To Be Effective From On November 24, 2012

Australian government's intention to strengthen its economy has resulted in the launch of new Australian Significant Investor Visa. Visa will come into effect from November 24th 2012.

New visa will be part of the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (Subclass 188) visa and the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) (Subclass 888) visa.

Australian immigration has outlined certain criteria for the visa applicant to qualify for Australia Significant Investor Visa:

•     You need to submit an expression of interest (EOI) in SkillSelect
•     You should be sponsored by state or territory government.
•     You need to invest minimum 5 million Australian dollars
•     This visa is not based on points and you are not required to satisfy any type of innovation points test.
•     There is no upper age limit to apply for this visa.

Significant Investor visa stream features a residence requirement of 160 days spent in Australia over 4 years with a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (subclass 188) visa.
