Canada Tightens Visa Norms, Indian IT Companies Set To Be Hit

Canada has united with the US for tightening the visa regime for foreign workers; this move would be harmful to the Indian companies offering IT services and having their operations in Canada.

Experts have seen it as a ‘knee-jerk’ reaction to the recent disagreement surrounding Canadian bank Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and iGate, the above changes would raise the time and costs connected with acquiring a temporary work permit.

A fast-track immigration program also popularly known as the Accelerated Labor Market Opinion (ALMO) program, which offers temporary work permit in two weeks has also been suspended. The Federal Skilled Worker Program is for people who are willing to immigrate to Canada. The foreign workers who have skills are eligible to apply for this visa for Canada Immigration.
