Change In Eligibility Criteria Of AINP's Post-Graduate Worker Category

AINP (Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program) is a state nomination program from Canadian state Alberta. Many of the Canadian provinces and territories have an agreement with the Canadian Government that allows them to nominate immigrants who want to settle there.

With new changes to the AINP, applying for permanent residence is now easier as its processing times are fast and it is still free to apply. Through this program, one can:

• Opt to apply with or without an employer
• Apply immediately if you are working as a full-time employee
• Apply even if your job does is not related to your education
• Apply if you belong to NOC occupations (some additional criteria apply)

For permanent residence, there are two categories available for international students:

1. Applying without an employer through the Post-Graduate Worker Category of the Strategic Recruitment Stream.
2. Applying with an employer through the International Graduate Category of the Employer-Driven Stream.

The AINP has made a critical change to the eligibility criteria to the Post-Graduate Worker Category of the Strategic Recruitment Stream. Effective immediately, only those applicants who finished an eligible program of study in Alberta can apply under this category. Applicants who finished an eligible program of study outside of Alberta can still have apply with an Alberta employer under the Employer-Driven Stream - International Graduate Category. International graduates are also eligible to apply under other AINP categories.
