DONG Energy has announced that construction on Denmark's largest offshore wind farm has surpassed the halfway mark.
Fifty-six of the 111 Siemens 3.6 MW wind turbines that will make up the 400 MW Anholt Offshore Wind Farm have been erected.
The Sea Jack installation vessel has left the area to handle other tasks, but turbine installation activities will continue at full speed, DONG Energy explains. Three other installation vessels - Sea Installer, Sea Power and Sea Worker - will continue work at the site. In April, Sea Installer will be needed elsewhere, and the remaining two installation vessels will then complete the installation work.
The project’s first turbines began delivering power to the grid last September. DONG Energy expects the remaining wind turbines to be installed and operational by the end of this summer.
