The Halifax lawyer says Express Entry is good news. The new express entry is designed in a manner that it will help those who qualify and offer them PR status within a period of six months

The Halifax immigration lawyer Elizabeth Wozniak gave an interview to CBC’ information morning and has said, that it is a way better when compared to the old system. She has also added that, it is totally refreshing news, and its great news. In the year 2012, when the province has shut down the international graduate program, it really has left the international grads out in the cold a little bit.

This will really help them, especially with all the big change introduced by the feds, which have been made to immigration. They have really put the international grads to a disadvantage and so this really helps them to get the PR to stay in Nova Scotia, where they want to be.

A student from Nigeria, whose name is Grace Okpala, desires to work in the environment sector. She has come to Nova Scotia in 2013 to complete her Master’s degree. “I want to stay in Nova Scotia but if I do not find a job or something to keep me grounded here, definitely I’ll move somewhere else- but I wish to stay in Nova Scotia”, she had said. She has also added that, “here in this nation she feels like home, it’s more or less like a little community”.

The temporary foreign workers will also benefit too, said the Wozniak. She has said, “We anticipate that it’s going to help, not only the students but also other people who are here, for one reason for another, but can’t access any other PR programs”.

As of April 10, the federal govt. has also offered to fast track permanent residency of 7776 skilled immigrants under the express entry. You still required having excellent language skills; you need to have your credential assessed if your degree is from overseas, to successfully apply for Nova Scotia Nomination program.
