According to a new Statistics, Canada is just behind Australia in the relative analysis of its foreign born residents. Among the G8, Canada’s foreign born population is at 20.6% of the total population.
The statistics follow the recent year’s trends of Australia followed by Canada, which has a highest per capita immigration rates across the world. Finland and South Korea are accepting the immigrants among the advanced economies and the number of immigrants to these countries is rising gradually, which is welcome news for their economy.
The Statcan report is showing 1,162,900 foreign-born individuals, entered Canada in 2006-2011 and that make up 17.2% of total Canada’s foreign-born population.
Among them, 56.9% came from Asia and out of which 78% are mostly minorities. There is a reverse situation prior to 1970, where foreign born population is 8.5% and minorities populations was 12.4%.
Immigration to Canada is high due to the favorable government policies towards immigrants. Canada issues different visas depending on the purpose and eligibility of the applicant. As Canada Immigration is the best choice among the available options, many people are considering it as the best destination for their long term settlement and career.
