Indian Visitors Can Travel To Reunion Island Without A Visa

Indian tourists can now travel to French island Reunion located in Indian Ocean visa-free for a maximum duration of 15 days.

Francois Richier, French Ambassador to India, said that tourists from India do not need a visa to visit the island for up to 15 days as a step to encourage France as a tourist destination for Indian tourists. The French embassy said that Indian visitors will be offered free Visa on Arrival.

Reunion, which is approximately 5,300 km from India, has grown as a popular tourist destination. Unesco has declared 40 percent of its territory as a World Heritage Site. 

On the other hand, the French ambassador has announced that effective 01 January 2015 Indians will be able to avail French visas in less than 48 hours.

Besides, a smart phone application especially intended for Indian tourists that gives information on popular shopping areas, famous tourist spots, vegetarian restaurants, etc. , in France will be initiated soon.
