Certain countries across the world, such as Germany, Hong Kong, and Malaysia have changed their immigration rules.
In Malaysia, the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) of its Immigration Department announces three specific changes to the Employment Pass and Professional Visit Pass. These changes will increase the processing time of the applications under all the categories. It will permit the employers and employees to have extra time to plan their relocation to Malaysia.
Immigrants applying under the categories of PVP and EP I, II and III must submit an approval letter of EP or PVP which is generated by the ESD, allowing entry into Malaysia. Dependents of these pass holders should produce the approval letter of the Employee. It will provide them a Long-term visit pass or dependent pass.
If the person is residing in Malaysia while applying for the passes, then the person has to exit the country and re-enter after the passes are granted.
In Germany, every individual who is residing in the country; including the immigrants staying in the country for more than three months, should enroll with their Local Residence Registration Office within 14 days of finding their residence.
Hong Kong Immigration Department has started to collect and verify documentations submitted by the employers, which provide information regarding recruitment of local workers. The immigration department wants to analyze reasons for efforts not being made, when an employer applies for the foreign workers under GEP (General Employment Policy) and MTP (Mainland Talents and Professional).
The increase in foreign workers in Hong Kong made HKID change the audit pattern and heightened the immigration standards. The employer and employees of Hong Kong must focus on the strict rules of HKID now onwards.
