Canada Immigration is commanded by the Economic Class, with consistently higher than half of the fresh immigrants coming in that way, new Canadian government figures reveal.
But the recent levels of annual immigration report tabled by the Ottawa in the last week reveals that the proportion and number of latest permanent residents in the Economic Class have declined somewhat, from 2015.
Instead, it is the Refugee and Family categories that have seen their numbers to increase, although the Refugee data is restricted by the drive to bring in plenty of Syrians in 2016.
It indicates that while the Canadian government is transparent in its plan to welcome higher and higher immigrants of Economic Class, it is also executing well on its commitment to rejoin more families.
Below the report on annual levels, economic class numbers reveal how the federal government has well handled the move to Express Entry.
When the Express Entry system was launched in 2015, leaders did not understand how the Invitations to Apply number announced for permanent residents would turn into people coming to Canada.
The Economic Class declined from 63% of the 2015 sum to 53% in 2016, while the Refugee Class proportion gained from 13% to 21% respectively.
Both 2016 and 2017 observed an objective of 300,000 recent immigrants, with actual figures revealing 296,379 and 286,479 recent permanent residents actually arrived.
The plan levels for the year 2018 reveals a goal of 310,000 current immigrants, along with 86,000 in the Family Class, 177,500 in the Economic Class and 46,500 Humanitarian and Refugees Class newcomers. Future improvements will be seen in each category if the proposed levels become a truth.
