Canada’s clean energy projects are estimated to provide 1400 new jobs. These projects are a part of the projected 50,000 new jobs by Ottawa in green energy sector. The condition for Green Energy Act is that companies wanting to get clean energy projects should be using Ontario services and products for a certain fixed percentage of the project.
The first module facility will be set up near Toronto and will help create 500 jobs in Canada; another 900 jobs will be created in Canada through a wind turbine blade production plant by Siemens and Samsung. These projects are being lauded by the Canada Solar Inc. officials and are seen as a success for the Green Energy Act launched by Ontario last year. Many other companies are expressing their interest to create wind turbine and solar production facilities.
These clean energy projects will be sufficient to supply power to 600,000 homes in Canada each year, as stated by official news released by Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
Brad Duguid, Minister of energy and infrastructure while speaking about the big achievement of Canada, said that Ontario feels proud to announce two significant milestones including biggest solar module plant in North America and one and only wind turbine blade production plant. These projects are expected to generate opportunities of growth and employment in the region, creating new jobs in information technology, software, engineering, finance, installation, construction, operations and maintenance.
Duiguid added that Ontario has expressed its openness for doing business and looks forward to more nad more businesses to help provide sufficient supply of clean energy to people of Ontario in the coming times.
