Networking on global music business scene

With the support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi, a two-day music conference will be showcased in New Delhi on November 17 and 18 at the Eros Hotel, Nehru Place. The conference aims at bringing together the global business of music and will stand as a networking opportunity for all involved in the world of music. It is a much-needed platform for an engagement between various people in the various fields of music, both, within India and globally. The music week will comprise of extensive workshops and panel discussions on some of the hottest topics discussed in the music industry - ranging from copyright issues, songwriting to music production tips by artists from all over the world. The workshops are aimed at improving the knowledge base of musicians and their support structures, skill training and capacity building primarily for musicians directly.

Unique platform including all

The Seagram’s 100 Pipers India Music Week is organized by Rock Street Journal Magazine, who have been pioneers in creating platforms for the Independent Music scene in India since 1993.

- What excites me about this project is that it is about engaging with Independent music in India in its totality; It is much more than just a music festival, it engages everyone from musicians to fans to the music Industry at many levels, states Amit Saigal, Editor & Publisher – Rock Street Journal Magazine.

- Norway’s cooperation with Amit Saigal and Rikskonsertene (Concerts Norway) is remarkable. Never have I in India seen such an ambitious programme, engaging so many vibrant and dynamic young musicians. I am truly impressed, and looking forward to the lasting effects of the new networks this festival will produce. I am proud that Norway has contributed to develop this concept, says H.E. Ms Ann Ollestad, Norway’s Ambassador to India.

Seagram’s 100 Pipers Pure Music has had a long standing relationship with music having associated in the past with such legends as Foreigner, Jethro Tull, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, The London Symphony Orchestra, America, Vanessa Mae and Anoushka Shankar amongst others.
