Prince Edward Island: Issues 122 ITAs To Skilled Workers And Entrepreneurs

Prince Edward Island announced new invitations to appeal for a nomination from the province to appellants in its Labour Impact, PEI’S Express Entry, and Business Impact categories of immigration in a draw held on 19 September 2019.

A sum of 122 invitations was announced to applicants in the Labour Impact and PEI’S Express Entry categories and also the Stream Business Impact: Work Permit.

The Prince Edward PNP recorded that 109 invitations were distributed between the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams. They did not produce a breakdown of how many applicants in Express Entry were invited or the required minimum score.

Another 13 invitations given to Stream Business Impact: Work Permit applicants.

Labour Impact and Express Entry Invitations

PEI’s Express Entry Stream is for applicants with a profile in the Canadian Express Entry system.

Express Entry leads the pool of applicants for Canadian three Federal High Skilled categories of immigration — Federal Skilled Trades Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class, and Canadian Experience Class.

Express Entry applicants who intend to be considered for a nomination from PEI must produce a separate Expression of Interest (E.O.I) profile with the Prince Edward Island PNP.

These profiles are provided an E.O.I score out of 100 and it depends on many parameters such as educational background, age of principle applicant, work experience and skill in English or French and the best-scored candidates are invited to apply for a nomination from the province through monthly draws.

The Prince Edward Island PNP says it prefers Express Entry applicants who are residing and working in PEI.

PEI’s Labour Impact Stream is not associated with the Express Entry system and is classified into 3 EOI-based streams — Skilled Workers (in P.E.I and Canada outside), Global Graduates and Critical Workers.

Applicants for these streams need to be working in P.E.I or have a qualified full-time, long-term employment offer from an organization in the province, along with other criteria.

The Prince Edward Island PNP has now announced 1,031 invitations to applicants in both the Labour Market Impact and Express Entry categories since the commencement of 2019. The following draw is scheduled for 17 October 2019.

Entrepreneur Invitations

PEI’s Stream Business Impact: Work Permit is for suitable for international entrepreneurs with business ownership or suitable management work experience who intends to invest in and run a company in PEI.

The Work Permit stream also runs on a points-based E.O.I system and the lowest-ranked applicant in the 19 September 2019 draw had a score of 115.
