Quebec, Canada To Allocate 180 Million To Support Immigrants

Quebec, the eastern province of Canada has announced to allocate $179.4 million over a period of next 5 years in order to support the integration of the new immigrants in the province.
Approximately 13.5 million dollars will be invested to lure international students and nearly 103.5 million dollars will be spent for the Francization of the new
immigrants in Quebec. Under the Francization program, the Quebec government will be providing free training for French to those who have no or very little command over the language. This program will also provide financial aid to the new immigrants who fail to get a job in the Eastern Province due to their inability to speak French.
Earlier this year the French province has announced to welcome 51,000 permanent residents in 2017 alone, under its various immigration programs.
In order to attract foreign students and make Quebec the most sought after destination for students there had been several previous announcements as well. During the month of October 2016, Quebec government had announced that it would be investing 1.6 million dollars in order to retain foreign students in Montreal after completion of their education.
There are nearly thirty universities and higher education establishments in Montreal and it has been nominated by QS World University Rankings as the ‘Best City in the World for Students 2017’.
